Braces are placed in the teeth and they are frequently used in orthodontic disorders. There are many different types and different uses.

WHICH CONDITIONS ARE THEY USED?

It is used in case of tooth distortion, jaw disorders (occlusion), tooth curvatures, tooth separations and position disorders. All of these situations can cause big problems to the person in the future. Therefore, orthodontic treatment should be applied before it is too late.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS ?

As with many other treatments, the use of braces for a healthy jaw and mouth structure is beneficial. After dental braces treatment, foods are chewed properly, which improves your eating habits and ensures that your digestive system works correctly. Jaw closing movements are organized. If people with inappropriate jaw closure are not treated, disc melts occur; so the braces help prevent it. It ensures correct and proper speech and the letters come out correctly. Gingivitis and gingival bleeding occur in distorted teeth, which can also be prevented by dental braces.

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF DENTAL BRACES?

Metal brackets, Porcelain brackets, Lingual brackets and Transparent plaques are available. The most preferred brackets are porcelain brackets, which are transparent so as not to get disturbed in daily life. It is less noticeable than metal brackets because of its glass appearance. Lingual brackets are the type of metal brackets that are attached to the inside of the tooth. These brackets are absolutely invisible from the outside. Transparent plates are removable devices. The preference for the braces is determined by the doctor and the patient.

Most people usually concern about this, but there is absolutely no pain in the procedure. Braces are usually placed within 30-45 minutes. There is a slight adaptation period for up to 1 week after the braces have been inserted.

It is considered that there will be a difference in the mouth when braces are attached. Initially, the mouth may have difficulty on closing. Braces and its strands may cause wounds in the mouth. However, these effects are normal in the first weeks. This is because your mouth structure is forced to transform into a new and healthy structure. After the first weeks, the patient gets used to the braces very easily and almost forgets that they are even there.

Of course, food residues between brackets and strands can accumulate and require a little more care than usual. Special fine toothbrushes and apparatuses can be used for this purpose.
